Save to Google Sheets

Description:

Once you are done with modifying your report, you are able to export it to Google Sheets. The “Save to GSheets” building block is used only as an auxiliary building block to the “Create Report” building block. Just make sure that your Google Spreadsheet is not locked just to you and you can link it with Conduit simply via the link. This building block has two more peculiarities/functions that are described below.

Use Case 1 - Overwrite

If you have done any modifications to your Google Sheets export report after exporting it from from Conduit and then for some reason (e.g. your data has been changed, you rearranged the columns or the metrics) you would like to run the workflow again, pay attention to which functionality you are using. If you use the Overwrite function, it will remove/overwrite all modifications you have made to your Google Sheet and export there the output of your report based on the report setting.

Use Case 2 - Update

Instead, if you wish to update your modified spreadsheet without eliminating any new adjustments you have made to the spreadsheet, please use the Update function. Upon running your workflow it will add a special so-called “service column” that will save the data in the spreadsheet from being overwritten. If you don’t wish to see this service column, you can simply hide it, but please never delete it before re-running the workflow again. This service column will keep the data intact and will allow you to add more rows/columns to your Google Spreadsheet should there be any changes in our input data source without removing the original report structure.
