Input Data

Connect the required data sources for your dashboard, ensuring that the historical data and tables for each data source are accurate.

Historical Data

By default, data is loaded for the past 90 days, but you can extend this range up to 5 years. In certain plans, extending the range may require a paid addon. To adjust the date range, go to the Connection Setup UI.

Tables (Schemas)

Most data sources offer multiple tables for use in dashboards. Ensure that you’ve connected the correct table for your needs. You can verify or adjust this in the Connection Setup interface.

Data Loading Indicator

A data loading indicator is visible at the bottom of the screen. You can begin designing your dashboard without waiting for the data to fully load. This indicator is also visible when our tool is resynchronizing data, which won’t interfere with your dashboard usage.

How to create Widgets

To add a new widget, click the + button.

Layout

To adjust the layout of widgets, use the Change Order or Layout button in the top-right corner of the dashboard.

Data Sources for Widgets

You can connect various data sources to the dashboard, including:

  1. Applications and databases
  2. Spreadsheets (Google Sheets syncs automatically)
  3. Data via WebHooks and APIs
  4. Transformed data, such as aggregated data (e.g., weekly metrics instead of raw data). For this, create a Workflow first.
  5. AI-generated responses, including numbers and charts.

AI with the Dashboard

You can ask the AI to generate reports. Here’s how:

  1. Start a new chat and connect your data sources.
  2. Ask your question(s) in the chat.
  3. Once the AI provides a response, click "Save as dashboard data source".

  4. Create a new widget and set AI(Copilot) as the data source.
  5. For numeric AI answers, use any widget type.
  6. For chart-based AI answers, use the AI Chart widget.

Refreshing the Dashboard

Conduit automatically updates the dashboard daily by:

  1. Synchronizing data sources and updating the last 30 days of data if there are changes.
  2. Running workflows for fresh data.
  3. Re-running AI queries in the chat for updated answers.

If you need more frequent updates, contact support to enable this feature.

Preparing Data for the Dashboard (Aggregating, Combining, and Filtering)

To customize your data for the dashboard, use Workflows. For example:

  • To filter data for a specific product, create a workflow, prepare the data, and use it as the data source.
  • To merge data from multiple sources, create a workflow, combine the data, and use the merged dataset as the widget’s data source.

Use Case: Top 10 products

Suppose we want to create a table or chart showing a list of the most popular products or pages. We have the option to use either AI or Workflows. In this case, let's focus on using Workflows.

To generate a chart, start by creating a new Chat and ask the AI to create a chart based on the data prepared in the Workflow.

Please see more details here.

Use Case: Show metrics only for a subset of pages

Let's say you want to count the number of visitors.

You can create a workflow with a filter then use the workflow as a data source for the widget.

Please see more details here.
