Creating a Report

Problem:

In cases you have a huge dataset and you would like to analyze it to find the top performing and low performing items, or do any other manipulation with the data you will need to use the “Create Report” building block.

Resolution:

By utilizing the “Create Report” building block you will not only have access to all the other building blocks, but be able to set recurrences of the report that would be sent to you with a valuable insight to your business. In order to create the report and customize it please follow the steps below.

Step 1

Firstly add your data source to start working with it. Here we will need a “Create Report” building block. Go ahead and choose your source dataset. “Create report” building block allows you to customize your output report.

Step 2

Click on breakdowns, and unselect all those columns and data you don’t want to see. By default you will see all the metrics and all the dimensions of your original dataset. Suppose we would like to display the data only by campaign and date. As for the metrics, we want to see only the clicks and costs. Now if we look at the result we will see exactly what we have prompted the system to display. But that is not it, as this building block is capable of much more!

Step 3

You can also set the sorting based on, for instance, cost. Additionally, you may limit the number of rows by, let’s say, Top 5 results. It helps when you create a report about Top of the best or Top of the lowest performing campaigns.
