AI Getting Started Guide
Leveraging AI for Dashboards, Visualizations, and Data Automation
Setting Up Your AI Workspace
- Start with an AI Notebook: To begin, create an AI Notebook(1)—one notebook per project or client is ideal. Notebooks are easily renamed for clarity (2).
- Organize with Chats: Within each notebook, you can create multiple chats (3), which can also be renamed(5). It’s effective to start a new chat (4) per topic or question.
Connecting Data Sources
When you're ready to ask your first question, start by connecting at least one data source (10).
-
Attach Relevant Data Only: For specific questions, connect only the necessary data sources (e.g., only Facebook and Google data for ad campaign questions). Although AI can handle multiple sources simultaneously, limiting data reduces confusion, especially if columns share names but have different meanings across sources.
-
Separate Chats for Separate Data: For questions involving other data sources, create a new chat (4) and connect the relevant data there. Avoid removing data sources in existing chats to ensure continuity for past answers.
Asking Effective Questions
Ask a question or give instructions (11).
- Be Precise: Directly reference column names from your data source for clarity. Use the data browser (14) to view these names.
- Specify Expected Output: Indicate what you expect in the answer (e.g., specific columns or summary metrics).
- Client-Specific Queries: To ask the same question for different clients, copy and paste the question into their respective notebooks.
To explore example queries, open a chat without data sources (7), and click a gray button (6) to view sample questions.
Combining Multiple Data Sources
If your question involves multiple data tables (e.g., names and metrics with relational links), AI can identify and merge relevant columns based on relationships between data sets.
Using the Responses
Switch between AI agents (17) to compare answers and select the most suitable one. Once satisfied, add responses directly to your dashboard with a click of the button above the answer (18).
Use the "AI answers" as a data source in dashboards:
